There is a shortage in Ghanaian construction, and it is not a shortage of labour. It is a shortage of certified skill — people who can read a working drawing, install a sanitation system correctly, estimate their own job, and stand behind the result.
General labour competes on price. Specialists do not.
If your skill is one that hundreds of others in your area also have, you compete on daily rate, and that rate is set by whoever is willing to accept least. If your skill is one that few people have and demand is rising, the conversation changes entirely.
Sanitation installation is squarely in the second category. Every property beyond the sewer network needs it, most existing systems eventually fail, and the number of people who can install a modern system correctly is small.
What certified training actually covers
Installation technique alone is not enough to build a career on. Our programme covers:
- Biofil Toilet System installation training
- SBDS installation training
- Reading and interpreting working drawings
- Presenting ideas with simple sketches
- Construction law and estimation
- Hands-on practical sessions on live installations
- Certification upon completion
Those middle items matter more than people expect. Being able to read a drawing means you can be trusted on a professional site. Being able to estimate means you can quote your own work instead of waiting to be given a rate.
Who it suits
Artisans already working in construction who want a specialism. People starting out who want a skill that earns. Established professionals adding sanitation capability to what they already offer.
No prior qualification is needed — the programme starts from fundamentals.
The honest part
Training is not a shortcut. It is hands-on, it takes work, and the certificate is issued on completion rather than attendance. But over 200 professionals have come through since 2021, and a good number now install systems professionally on their own account.
If that is the direction you want, get in touch and we will tell you when the next session runs.
