About Sisal
A Ghanaian engineering firm founded in 2019 by ENGR. Moro Abdul Fatau, an IET Ghana certified civil engineer. We design and build residential and commercial structures, and we developed our own sanitation systems — the Sisal Biomechanical Drainage System (SBDS) and an improved Biofil toilet.
We are based in Accra and Kumasi and deliver projects and installations nationwide across Ghana.
Yes. Sisal is led by an IET Ghana certified civil engineer, and our work is delivered to professional engineering standard rather than general contractor practice.
Yes. Architectural, structural and MEP design plus construction management are delivered under one roof, so there is a single point of accountability from first drawing to handover.
Yes. Diaspora projects are a regular part of our work. We manage the build end to end and report progress with photographs so you can see exactly what your money has built.

Building with us
Yes. You can commission architectural, structural or MEP design on its own and build with your own contractor. Many clients start with design and come back to us for the build.
Yes. We review the existing drawings first and flag anything needing structural or MEP correction before pricing the build.
After the site assessment and drawings, you receive a clear written estimate broken down by element. Work begins only once you approve it.
Yes. Drainage is designed in from the start, including SBDS where there is no public sewer — which is why our builds do not suffer the septic failures common elsewhere.
Yes, alongside new builds. Tell us what you have and what you want to change, and we will assess it.
It depends on scope, ground conditions and access. You get a realistic timeline with your written estimate rather than an optimistic guess.
Drainage and wastewater
A septic tank stores waste until it is emptied. The Sisal Biomechanical Drainage System treats wastewater biologically, filters it, and returns treated water safely to the soil. Because nothing accumulates, it does not fill, overflow or fail the way septic tanks and soakaways do.
Residential SBDS runs from RC1 to RC7. The right class depends on bedrooms, occupancy, soil conditions and water table — we establish that during a free site assessment rather than asking you to guess.
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people call us. The site assessment establishes what is installed now and what the changeover involves.
Treatment is biological — it relies on naturally occurring bacteria rather than chemical dosing.
Yes. Hotels, offices, schools, shopping centres, industrial facilities and multi-unit residential developments get a custom configuration sized to their load.
Far less than a septic tank and soakaway. We hand over with maintenance guidance specific to your installation and classification.
The Sisal Biofil toilet
We re-engineered the points where conventional units fail in service — principally maintenance and manure removal — and improved day-to-day performance. The underlying biological principle is the same; the experience of owning one is not.
No. Waste is treated biologically on site rather than stored, so there is no pit filling up and no tanker to call. Routine maintenance is required, and our design makes that considerably easier.
Yes, and that is a common reason people contact us. The free site assessment establishes what is there and what the changeover involves.
Yes. Many properties take both — the Biofil toilet for the toilet itself and SBDS for the property’s wider wastewater. We advise what your property actually needs.
Installers trained and certified by us. We have trained over 200 professionals in Biofil and SBDS installation since 2021.
Training, cost and payment
No. The programme is built for artisans, aspiring craftsmen and working professionals alike, starting from drawing-interpretation fundamentals before moving to system installation.
Yes. Biofil and SBDS installation training is hands-on and certified on completion. Over 200 professionals have trained with us since 2021.
Yes. You can train on Biofil installation only, SBDS installation only, or both. Tell us which when you enquire.
Yes. We run group training for companies, estates and institutions. Get in touch with your team size and we will structure a session around it.
It depends on scope, size and site conditions, which is why the assessment is free. You receive a clear written estimate and approve it before anything starts.
Yes. Consultation and initial site assessment are free and carry no obligation.
Deposits and consultations can be settled by MTN Mobile Money or debit card. Payment terms for a full project are set out in your written estimate.
